We aim to answer a question that we've been asked "which is better - the Canon EOS 7D or the Nikon D300S? They are teamed up with 24-70mm f/2.8 standard zoom lenses. To try and find out, we take it our for a little field test, going up a rather big hill to see a large bronze buddha that weighs more than a Jumbo jet. We take a look at aspects such as the 7D's 18mp vs D300S' 12mp, movie mode of both cameras and whether the Canon 7D's all new 19-point AF is all it's cracked up to be.

  • @R00G00 I'm not a "rich video hobbyist" and i love the 7d. It depends on the persons preferences on what kind of camera they prefer. You can't generalize people by there cameras because i know so amazing photographers that use little Samsung digital cameras. I'm very serious with my photography and i LOVE the canon 7d. You may prefer the d300 but not everyone is you. My advice to everyone is pick the camera YOU like and think will work best for your shots and not what others tell you on a video.

  • I choose Canon cause I have Kilo grams of L glass

  • @AcXr50 Converting to Jpeg or so... i guess

  • Canon 7D ! ♥

  • @AcXr50 you shoot raw but you have to convert it to TIFF or JPEG to print or show once edited.

  • Someone help me on converting raw files? I always shoot raw. What does he mean by converting?

  • On the 4:00 when he compares the "bokeh", the focus point of the nikon is clooser to lens, and even the amateur photographer would know that if you focus clooser distances you will get better bokeh. another point i would like to remind that, the warmer colors or cooler colors are not a big issue because digital photography requires post editing anyway. i just dont understand why he tries to exaggerate the nikon.

  • i have noticed that whenever the canon obviously wins, kai still cant admit it and says"its not an easy one to answer". love him to bits tho...

  • @joebloggs55555 : Both are great cameras for their image quality and functions. The question here is the reliability at extreme temperatures. Nikon's are generally built like a tank and keep clicking at extremen temperatures. I mention National Geographics photographers because I can't think of a group of people stretching the camera to its limits and more, than those photographers. And this goes back to the film days as well.

  • @TechCrazy not strictly so, I understand that that may be the case in the US, however in the UK and Europe is significantly the other way round. I'm unbiased as I have both, and they are both very good cameras.
