I filmed this @ The Bowery Electric December 3 2010. "Black Slacks" was made written by and recorded by Joe Bennett & The Sparkletones (1957). "Red Hot" goes back to 1955 and was written by Billy "The Kid" Emerson.

OMFG...I saw Robert Gordon in Austin in 82...I would not have recognized him. But he still kicks rockabilly ass!

If you like RG with this band, you should hear him with Danny Gatton on a CD entitled "The Humbler". No finer rockabilly guitarist ever lived.

Robert seems to be going through the motions on these songs, but the band is pretty decent, a bit more jumping and alive than the other one he uses.

Saw Robert and Chris Speeding live in Toronto 30 years ago.
Danforth Music Hall.
Rockabilly Boogie was a new release - and new wave chicks were all over him.
The true beginning of the rockabilly revival in North America.
It was no longer old music - it was New Wave!
