Compressed Air Dent Removal

I did this with a small butane torch I had. I heated up the dented area until the paint started smoking and sliding off then I threw my slurpee on it and it worked just as good. Didn't even need any can of compressed air. Those things are expensive, slurpees are $1

@htowngoonies keyboard cleaner is £4 in uk, search ebay for compressed air. To have a dent repaired your looking at £80 plus that's 20 times as much!

I have a small dent about 3 inches in diameter on my door. I haven't touched it.. I don't know what you mean by creased.. Do you think this will work for me? Could it cause more damage if it doesn't work or is it worth a try no matter what? Is that compressed CO2? Thanks

but, will it blend???

what a load of shit , you people have to much time on your hands , I tried it nothing happened , FAIL

@bobdillback "face palm"

you think that would work for a bike fame

You really know nothing of body work then as this is an old trick and a variant of some of the early dent removal services that used dry ice and water to contract the metal taking the play out of it and basically making it pop back into shape. As he said creases wont work but things like hail or large metal stretches like this it will work. Creased metal requires tooling and dollying.

I have a Cadillac cts with a dent by the gas tank on the crease of the metal, if you can picture it. You know, the defining lines on the Cts and Sts. You think this will work on that or will it make it worse? It's seems as if it may, but I'm hesitant.
i think that they put that dent there because it had to be creaseless or that would not of worked. in the real world its a one in a thousand easy dent.

@2010alleycat Incorrect. This is not a 1 in a thousand dent, specifically someone (In my opinion maliciously) 'fell' into my car and put this dent there.

is that a heat gun or regular blow dryer?
remy7142002 2 months ago
@remy7142002 Blow dryer. A heat gun would work, but you'd need to be careful with it as it's going to get much hotter then a hair dryer, potentially damaging the paint.

If this worked body shops all over would be closing down it's a load of shit if it worked for them they got lucky with a prefect dent that would never happen twice

@bronzoni1129 Obviously it's not going to work for every dent. Some basic knowledge of metallurgy will allow you to estimate what chance you have of it working. But for a "push in" from a soft object (in this case it was caused by my ex-roomates fat asscheek), it was a no brainer.
