This is the best end Natla could have, killed not by Lara but by her own creation, with the same face she hates so much.

Still... it does NOT compensate. They exagerated to make Lara's mother's fate so unnecessarily tragic. We didn't expect to see her alive, but if at least her soul appeared to Lara only to make this less painful or if Lara simply found her body frozen it would've been sad, but still acceptable.

That's why Lara's parents are alive in her new biography for the reboot.
