So, I sit down to watch Citizen Kane last night. 10 minutes in I'm thinking, "Where have I heard 'Rosebud' mentioned before, ah can't remember. So, why did he say "Rosebud"? This should be interesting."

5 minutes later I think "Shit, Family Guy ruined Citizen Kane for me".

Boy I wished someone did that for me when I sat through Citizen Kane. I was so pissed when I found out it was his sled.

He did not ruin the movie b/c the movie wasn't simply that it was his sled, it was about what kind of person he became and what he experienced in life that shaped him such that on his death bed, he was alone and could only be nostalgic about something that reminded him about a simpler and more cherished time in his life. Anymore than that and I will ruin the movie.

@Lershane There's an entire trope called "It was his sled" on the tvtropes site about how something things in movies are just common knowledge now like Darth Vadar is Luke's father or the Planet of the Apes is Earth so its not anything exciting to find those things out now, even if you haven't seen the movie.

Also, if you think that finding out "it was his sled" ruins the movie, then you've proven Seth McFarlane right in this video, the movie's about his rise and fall as a person.
