John Weltman of Circle Surrogacy explains the differences between traditional versus gestational surrogacy, how agencies screen and match surrogates and donors with intended parents, the time line and costs of the process, and the difference between known and unknown donors. He also spoke about insurance issues for gestational surrogacy.

John spoke at the fifth annual "Men Having Babies" seminar, hosted by Center Kids, the family program of the New York LGBT Community Center. The panel was moderated by Terry Boggis, the director of Center Kids.

The seminar included three parts: an overview of the surrogacy and egg donation process by a panel of legal and medical experts; short presentations by agencies and organizations who provide services and support for gay men who want to have babies; and personal stories from NY gay parents, a surrogate and (for the first time this year) an egg donor.
