Its been 6yrs since the SUNY College @ Old Westbury has had cheerleaders. It has been ONE tough year for us captains; starting off with 40 girls and ending with 9. We can honestly say we've came A LONG WAY! Cheered for our basketball team as they made it to the Championship game but unfortunately were defeated. As Old Westbury cheerleaders we stuck with them when the the opposing team would BOO and HISS and continued to cheer them on when they crowd stood still! WE ARE THE MIGHTY PANTHERS and FROM NOW ON WE WILL MAKE IT "ROAR"! LETS GO PANTHERS!!!!!

i'm a senior in high school, and i've been cheering since 8th grade. I'm considering going to old westbury in the fall, and i want to cheer at college.

how difficult is it to get on the team? (i've been a flyer, a sweep, and a base, but CANNOT do tumbling to save my life!)
