Seems like you saw and studied the same versions I've seen! Really great tone, man. And I like how you're in the groove the whole time! I really dug it.

I play on Van Doren reeds (blue box, strength = 3) and a Van Doren medium tip mouthpiece.
With that said, however, I should also say that gear does not define a player's tone; it's about air support, embouchure, and knowing what sound you want to get from the horn. If you want to improve your sound, listen to someone you want to sound like and record yourself to hear the difference. DO NOT try to emulate my sound, as it pails in comparison to the greats..........

(cont'd)...........I'd recommend checking out Harry Carney first when it comes to bari players. I've never been crazy about Gerry Mulligan's sound, but he's another big bari name that every bari player should at least be a little familiar with. Just remember, while gear can HELP you get the sound you want, it will not be the deciding factor regarding what you sound like - you do!
