@babybluecebu Not all of the time, however, a lot of them can considering their duties to both block, and occasionally catch passes thrown to them. They do a lot of work and usually are muscular guys so they can often times take quite a beating. It's an advised piece of equipment no doubt, however it's also up to personal preference of the player if they like its support and protection more then it'd be a good idea to wear it. :)

@babybluecebu It's called a 'Cowboy Collar'. It's an advanced neck roll system. It basically helps absorb shock by engaging the sides and back of the helmet, instead of the bottom of the helmet like traditional neck rolls. It provides shock absorption, better control of head motion under impact and no fulcrum effect. And it protects against "stinger" and "burner" syndrome shoulder injuries much better than traditional neck rolls.
