  • you definitley do have a little miracle. We go tomorrow to find out if our hygroma is smaller. They also told us that hydrops is a possibility. At what week was she born?

  • She was born at 37 weeks. she was teeny (4' 10"), but plucky. Came home 3 days later.

  • They told us that Turners is only a 5% survival rate and that Klinefelters is a 40% survival rate and taht the cyst makes it even a lower rate. You have a little miracle in your hands. Do you know how many weeks into the pregnancy the cyst started to go away? Our doctors are pushing towards abortion. Did Summer have to have heart surgery?

  • We know we have a little miracle! We know what you're going through--it's tough! God was with us. Abortion was not an option for us, but the reality of not knowing what might happen was scary. The cyst started getting smaller around 17 weeks...by 22 weeks it was almost not noticeable--just some thick skin around the neck. Summer now has a "webbed" neck. We thought she'd need heart surgery--but she didn't, but her heart still needs monitoring. She's been work & tears--but she's worth it!

  • Also wanted to say that we were also told she probably wouldn't survive, especially when they started seeing beginnings of fetal hydrops (fluid buildup other areas). But that also disappeared. We had lots of people praying. We were prepared to see her die. God spared her life.

  • Did the cystic hygroma disipate or get worse? We are in a similar situation. Our unborn son has a cystic hygroma and klinefelters. We are just beside ourselves and nervous. What was your outcome? We were told that our baby wouldn't survive and we go in next week for another ultrasound.

  • Summer's hygroma got pretty bad and then she started getting fluid around the heart and lungs. At that point we were expecting her to die. Later the fluid and hygroma went away and there was no hygroma at birth.

She is now 19months and has some delays but otherwise is doing well.

You can look at our other videos, some of them have summer on them.

  • Our baby was just diagnosed with cystic hygroma :( I am 11 weeks, we were told 3 days ago. Worst emotional pain I have ever know. We are praying for a miracle.

  • I'm not very good at all this stuff, so i have no idea what that scan means. sorry, but if anyone wants to watch a video i have made one about when my baby went through Cystic Hygroma. Please take a short moment of your time to watch it. 'cystic hygroma - Lexi's Story.' I hope it helps x

  • I was born with Cystic Hygroma in 1991 I'm 18 right now under went 19 surgeries but overall healthy and preparing to go off to College! How is you daughter doing now :)

  • when pregnant with my daughter the 20 week scan showed a swelling, it was decided it was nothing major and i was told it would be gone by birth. it was BUT at birth she was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome, the swelling had possibly been a marker. a Cystic Hygroma seems likely. the swelling had gone by 24/26 weeks gestation. my baby came at 39 weeks weighed 5lb 15oz.. came home at 5 days. she's now 13yr old, doing fine. my girl has problems with odema in her feet but that's about it, heart is fine
