A newly restored 1971 Rupp Roadster idling to break in a NOS HS-40. The motor was never used from original date of manufacture in the early 70s. This is the first time it was ever started.
The torque converter belt has been left off right now, and an old test muffler is on in place of the freshly rechromed muffler.

  • How much were they going for? I had a new one in 1969 Orange 5hp Tecumseh. Still miss it.

  • @sonorcrusher that 69 would bring big money right now if in good condition. these 12" Rupps are more common and bring less $. a 71 in this condition is worth 4k. ...well was worth that, until the folks in DC caused the devaluation of our money.

  • Where did you get the NOS engine?

  • @bschreffler there were 10 of them on ebay several years ago. the deal sounded too good to be true, I think may people thought it was a scam. I got the first one. mine arrived as perfect as the day it was manufactured, in a hand built plywood shipping box. then several of my buddies bought at least one each, every motor was NOS and in a plywood box same as mine. the seller would only list one at a time, but only after one sold. -I figured the story was worth noting. thanks for watching.

  • I live in Oregon and i have a rupp but no one else has one it's weird but im not complaining Rupps are a very good mini bike.

  • @thehellmantrain since Rupp was made in Ohio, they were more common in the midwest. the cool part about owning a Rupp today, you can still get parts. there's a great parts supplier in Festus MO.
