Side-by-side comparison of Knoend's lite2go lamp vs. a generic table lamp. 6 lbs 6.5oz of product designed for the landfill vs. 12.5 oz of biodegradable/recycleable lamp. Illustrates the difference in packaging waste accumulated when choosing to buy a lamp designed with eco considerations or one without. In addition to packaging differences, on one hand, the lite2go lamp's components are biodegradable or easily disassemble for recycling, on the other hand, the generic lamp base is made of resin and the socket is fused into the base, the shade consists of metal and plastic and textile, also fused, making this lamp utterly impossible to recycle and destined for landfill. Though the aesthetic of the lamps are quite different, this video is meant to simply show the potential environmental impact of ecodesign. And did you notice that the light bulb is provided with the lite2go? It is a 7W CFL - the other light bulb we had on hand was also a CFL but it was 23W, shrink clamshell packaged and sold seperately.
I have one in my dorm, I love it!
