Covering Stn 234, P215 called out for a pregnant lady trapped in an elevator. Watch out for the big bump in the road, and the truck flipping over as it turns left (no really it was the camera that tipped over). An elevator mechanic was already on scene and had the lady out prior to our arrival.

  • How come elevator rescues are code three responses? I can see that the person trapped may get anxious....but they are in no real danger of the elevator falling. Or was it code three because she was pregnant?

  • @ProudVolunteer19 Don't really know the answer. As far as I know, we are to respond to all calls lights & siren for insurance reasons. Personally, there are a few type of calls we attend that, in my honest opinion, do not require lights & siren (elevator calls without a medical problem, CO detector activations without medical symptoms, activated fire & smoke alarms without reports of smoke or fire...)

  • Was there anybody else in the elevator with the pregnant woman?

  • @ProudVolunteer19 You pretty much just answered your own question. That's why it's not a code 4 response. There are dangers to being trapped in an elevator, but only enough that, it's a code 3 response, and not enough danger to be a code 4.

  • You need a camera mount.
