Roads Minister Mike Penning saw progress on the A3 Hindhead bypass project when he was driven through the whole length of the new 1.2 mile tunnel. The £371 million project will improve journey times between London and Portsmouth. It will also reduce traffic at the notorious bottleneck in Hindhead village and restore peace and tranquillity to a highly valued part of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
on time,on budget. hmmmm yeah i dont quite believe that, even if it is true what cut backs have been made therefore increasing the risk of something going wrong, possibly killing someone.

Excellent video. The tunnel will be a real improvement when opened, probably ahead of schedule at this rate. Top marks to the construction team and DoT.
