The old school is where its at, any new death metal bands that even come close to Pungent Stench, Unleashed, Morgoth, Morbid Angel, Pestilence, Acrostichon, and so many other pounding bands of the era...

@afoolisharrangement morbid angel \m/ they were one of the pioneers of death metal. heavy ass band for their time! somehow metallica was still popular..... fuck them.

@taxi911 death IS the old school band ya foo. front man chuck schuldiner was referred to as "the father of death metal" band named death (formerly mantas) + the word "metal" = deathmetal. or at least that's how i like to pretend it came to be... such a simple explanation. many would call death the first death metal band, i would, but some disagree and say they were "one of the first" though i've never seen an argument to suggest someone else was THE first.

@YTisMyPlaylist i don't. this is just the first link to youtube that shows up when i type a "Y" in my browser, cause it's in alphabetical order and asphyx is the first one starting with an "A" and i always just type in a "Y" and click on this link to get to youtube. faster than typing out youtube. so i've heard the beginning of this song like 50 times by now and it gets old after a while if you can imagine. really though they're some ok old school, probably heavier than some from the same era.
