Maulana Azad's birthday celebrations in Al Azhar University.

"The Maulana Azad Centre for India Culture in Cairo organised a function commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Independent India's first Education Minister, at the prestigious Al Azhar University, one of the world's leading centres for Islamic learning. Ambassador Swaminathan delivered a lecture in Arabic on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and India-Egypt relations. A photo exhibition on India-Egypt relations was held and prizes were distributed to the winners of the Urdu essay writing competition. Others present on the occasion included President of Egypt-India Friendship Association, Dr Ali El Din Hilal, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr Usama Al Abd , Dean of the faculty of Languages and Translation, Dr Ali Shaban and Director-Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, Mrs Suchitra Durai."
