  • He didn't explained that well

  • Algebra just doesn't make sense to a lot of us. Just go with what ur taught & STUDY like crazy. Here FACTORING out the largest nbr that will divide into all, 3. Factor next using FOIL (ignore 3 for this you'll pull it back in the last part) FOIL, First Inner Outer Last, i.e. multiply your first number through i.e. FIRST x(x)=x sqrd; x(-2)=-2x; INNER 4(x)=4x; OUTER 4(-2)=-8. U get x sqrd-2x+4x-8= x sqrd+2x-8 times the 3 u factored out at first & ur back where u started. GOOD LUCK!

  • @MissDJ - I agree with your sentiments. To explain the 3 above, the instructor was looking for the highest common factor between the numbers 3, 6, and 24 (3 is the largest number that can be divided into these three numbers without leaving a remainder).

  • @Obamanation154 - Nope. Expanding the solution you had would result in 3x²+6x-12x-24 = 3x²-6x-24. This is NOT the same as the problem given above. However (3x+12)(x-2) would also be correct, since the (3x+12) is the same as 3(x+4).

  • God bless this mans soul!

  • i did this my junior year in high school... and i have to take "intermediate" algebra in college i guess? this is gonna be a breeze..

  • what do you think is the purpose of algebra for our future?

  • I got (3x-12)(x+2) Is that right also?

  • math is the type of subject that can only be understood with the proper method of teaching... some teachers THINK that what they're thinking, the students are thinking too. You need to kind of step out of your own mind set and pretend youre starting from a clean slate. How would you explain something CLEARLY from a to z? I don't mean to insult someone but some teachers are inconsiderate. He didn't explain how he came up with 3 and why he chose 3...

  • @Gnuso77 now that i got to college i really realize that you cant just go along with what you're taught, you have to really understand whats going on or you'll have to repeat the course all over like i have to do.

  • NOT SO IMPRESSIVE CLASS

  • ok, now am more confused than ever before
