@chipreno23 the closest thing to this is Bossa Nova imo

What genre would you call this? Besides Jazz. I want to create a pandora station with this type of music, or find more music of this type with that same kinda feel. Any suggestions?

Can't believe I found this here. Gives me chills! Grew up in 50's and this was passed on from my Dad. One of the most beautiful songs of all times! Love, love, love it!!!! A real treasure! To anyone who has a buddy, no matter what generation, this is a very special song!

This is good like Raymond Scott

@jennyhaze exactly. If anything they are bringing such great praise to a great artist. Alvino had just died several months before they released this single, and Win wanted this on the single as a dedication/fairwell, what have you. Win and William Butler (both members of AF) have inherited their grandfather's musical rebelliousness.

relaxin' stuff :)

@Steelchordman do you by any chance know the chords? I mean, know he's not playing a standard guitar, but perhaps the chords can be transposed to guitar? I really love this song, and would love to play on electric...any suggestions?

DUBHIPPY , peter frampton got his first talk box given from legendary nashville pedal steel guitarist pete drake. They were doing george harrisons album " all things must pass" here in england.
Search for "Pete Drake Forever" to see his talking steel guitar million seller single "forever"FROM 1964.....bit of a gimmik but drake was THE busiest steel played in Nashville in the 60s. played on bob dylans nashville skyline album also.

I watched Alvino Rey a few times in person, about 1938,after I started playing steel guitar on a Gibson D8 Grand Conole, so I had to get one, then later he got a 1942 Gibson Electra-harp, I had to get one of those too, and bought all his old 78rpm records at the time and tried to learn to play like him and copy all his solos. He was it then...al marcus

i guess this means peter frampton DIDN'T invent the talking guitar then.

Win and Will talk about the dude at every opportunity. There's no malice or dishonesty in it at all. The credit phrasing might be a bit weird, but there's no way they're trying to hog Rey's kudos. They don't need to. It wouldn't make sense, there's always demand for a new Arcade Fire track.

What? They didn't. They credited him, he's the Butler's grandpa.
