  • Is she taking hormones??

  • 4:26 "Battery powered generators"

Maddow invented infinite power. She's a genious!

  • Its unfortunate you clearly don't understand nuclear technology aside from what your writers write.

  • @ORLIFLOWER

Which is a "pump" not a generator.

  • @newdimensionfilms with generator she ment device that keeps the water circulating

  • "Battery powered generators"

I think she just means "batteries." Batteries only store energy, not generate it.

  • Thank you Rachel for decent science information!

  • it turns out the japanese are not telling the truth so all this info is bs

  • @Clarissa2424 since the back-up generators failed the 3rd backup(BATTERIES) were used to keep water flowing around the core to dissipate heat.

Still, even now, on Sunday, there is risk that the CORES of at least 2 reactors will at least partially melt down..and radioactivity is in the atmosphere(to a minor amount, i think at this moment) and hundreds of thousands of people are being evacuated from around the nuclear plants.

  • @TheSnowmanagable Actually, Japan's nuclear power plants were ALREADY SHUT DOWN, before the Tsumani hit. 1 hour after the earthquake the reactors were shut down.

However, the problem is that the nuclear core is still very very hot and needs to be cooled down to prevent melting of the core and release of radioactivity into the air, ground and water.

Since there was no electricity to push water into the core to cool it, the back-up generators were used. Then the back-up generators failed.
