Introducing Gradius 2 for the Nintendo Famicom, this game was never released in North America. This is really sad for Gradius fans like me, especially because I need to import the game!

Like in my previous Gradius run (http://youtube.com/watch?v=SLC3_wa-TZ0 ), I was a little bit rusty here since I didn't play the game in a while... but still, I did not lose my awesome dodging skills!

Anyways, here is a complete run of Gradius 2 without dying at all (No-Miss). Enjoy this one-of-a-kind run, with a special SHMUPGurus flavor added to it (skill-wise...!)! =P

Gradius 2 for the Nintendo Famicom (or the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) here in North America), done on 12/20/07.

*Total video time: 28 min 55 sec*
*Music: Same thing like on the Gradius No-Miss Run, 8-bit music and sound effect at it's best! This was at KRIK's request as well.*

  • I thought this was for the Turbo Graphics 16.

  • The original version was made for arcades. Then, ports of the game were made, like this one on the NES. The TurboGrafx 16 version is also a port.

  • Oh, which version is the best? Cause I have this thing that can play all NES games, and I have the VC for the TG16 port.

  • The TurboGrafx 16 version is definitely the best, because it's almost a perfect port from the arcade version. =P

  • im guessing u didnt choose spread bomb because the double in that set was tailgun?

  • Nah, I'm an ''original'' user and will always be. I just think it's more like Gradius in general, and in the arcade it was always the big trio: Missile, Double and Laser. That's the real Vic Viper to me! Besides, some of the other weapons in the other Power Meters seem to be overpowered (in the new games mostly), and I prefer a good challenge if you know what I mean! ;)

  • its this game for real, wow it looks amazing, for a nes game

  • The Turbo Duo's version is the best version indeed (i own it). It also included some cool cinematic scenes and some extra music. The Turbo Duo version was also ported to the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console.

  • @Neuromorphic0 As if there was any other way you can beat this game.

  • If you close your eyes it sounds like he's playing Contra.

  • @hxhky It means he never died.
