  • How does Maglev help when it is connected to a generator?

  • It's not connected to a generator :) at least not in the traditional sense.

  • Not to be a pain in the rear or a pessimist, Im usually a real enthusiast of wind turbines. but the 1/8 th scale of a 50 KW vawt is hard to believe to me , seeing as when you double the size of the unit you recieve only 4 time the power factor.

in fact if the large unit made 5 KW that would mean that the 1/8th scale would be in the range of 78.125 watts. I dont think so. much less this little unit making 781.25 watts.

  • Does it use a flux capacitor to store that energy?

  • Where can I buy one of these?

  • This turbine does not use magnetic levitation with electromagnets,it simply uses permanent magnets, very strong neodymium magnets, and thats it,there s a ring of magnets facing north upwards and another facing north downwards.....why would you even use electromagnets,it s not that u have to spin the turbine....the train uses electromagnets because they work in a linear motor configuration where you need propulsion, but here you need just levitation wich is given to you by any permanent magnet

  • i would assume blade shape caters more towards catching max wind

  • im a bit lost...just wondering..how is this better then a horizontal wind turbine? cuz for a horizontal one...all of the blades are being pushed by the wind to increase the speed of the fan's rotation.this one..there is always one wing that is being pushed to make it faster while another is being pushed the opposite direct. Although the wings of the turbine might be curved to reduce the the force being pushed the opposite way, there's still some. Doesn't this make it inefficient?

  • If the turbine is levitating, how do you transfer the kinetic energy to the generator?

  • If that is 1/8 scale what is it full size!?

  • Lol and then he accelerates to 88 mph and boom back in time

  • It might look nice, but will never be a significant power producer, the savonius style units just don't lend themselves to power production. If you get 5 watts out of your little unit you'll be lucky. Once you scale it for more power, you'll learn that the roof top is off limits because your unit turned into this 5 meter x 5 meter beast, and would still fall short behind the conventional HAWTs, ... nice for looks though...

  • this is a GORGEOUS design!
