Nevermind, I was wrong.

It's a piano solo from the soundtrack of the movie "Syriana" by Alexandre Desplat. You can search for it here on YouTube.

Ahh, I see. I just found the Marshall's version. I had them flip-flopped in my mind. I guess I assumed that the lighter music would've been used at Nationals when we Michelle was still going to be in Torino, and the darker music would be for the final event to mourn what had happened and how she was going out.

This was the one they aired during Nationals. The quote at the end was what changed after the Olympics. In this vid. the quote was "And the ice skating world has been a brighter place with her shining above it."
After the Olympics, it was changed to "And the ice skating world will be a dimmer place without her shinning above it."

I don't think this was the version that aired during 2006 Nationals. The video and the piece written by Jim McKay are the same, but the music they used during Nationals wasn't as dark and sad, if I remember correctly. It was after Michelle's final Olympic experience ended as it did that they changed the music to play before her final farewell at the USFSA spring event.

well deserved tribute to Michelle.....great competitor but also a great individual....we miss you Michelle....nationals is not the same without her, too many quick stars, none really consistent.
