In this University of Kentucky program, Dr. Peter Palese, professor and chairman of the Department of Microbiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, shares how reconstruct the extinct 1918 pandemic influenza virus by reverse influenza viruses can help us better understand molecular basis of virulence and the mechanisms by which pandemic influenza viruses are transmitted.
There is an answer. The 1918 virus was not very lethal by itself. Most people died from bacterial co-infections. In late 1917 through early 1918, the Rockefeller Inst. used experimental pneumonia and meningitis serums on the military. Look up Gates meningitis serum at Fort Funston. In their excitement over recreating a potential lethal bioweapon with the reconstruction of the 1918 virus, I guess they forgot this brushed over history. The NWO perps must be really disappointed right now.

Small POX was supposedly WIPED out 20 years ago and does NOT exist anymore in the open environment, haathorisis1, so why does Russia, USA , UK, France and Israel, keep vial of the dead POX. Photos and film would be enough to "REmember" what it looked like... NO one is vaccinated for these TODAY, because they are WIPED out What a perfect set up, to destroy the world since only our
Criminal gov. keep it in vials for future USE. INSANE.

yak yak, but you have NOT provided a sliver of evidence... while I point you to Dr. Horowitz book, "AIDS EBOLA and EMERGING VIRUSes " that proves YOUR full of Gov. BULLshit, and 100 million dead African's who were "vacinnated" with the AIDS [precursor] while supposedly wipinbg out some other disease. 100 million dead say YOU ARE WRONG. That is sufficient evidence to me.

If Dr. Palese in this video heard you make that comment about not trusting vaccinations he would turn red with frustration and then try and convince you why that kind of attitude will bring us back to the age of common deadly pediatric infectious diseases. The conspiracy theories that you spout are the reason that we are having such a hard time eradicating polio from the world (your mindset is the same as those in countries like Taliban-run areas of Pakistan and Nigeria).

There is no universally accepted answer to why 1918 had such a distinctive curve. I think the most popular theory stems from the idea that much of the morbidity surrounding flu infection is derived not from viral effects, but from an exaggerated immune response to the virus. So if for some reason 1918 elicited a particularly strong response, you can imagine that the segment of the population with the strongest immune systems actually faired as poorly as those with weak immune systems.

Further research on 1918 influenza shows it started in Kansas just before WWI, and if US had stayed OUT of WWI, being neutral, it would not have spread as fast world wide. AIDS was created at Ft. Dietrick, Md at the Bio-Warfare lab
of U.S. Army, and deliveratly injected into homosexuals in
NYC and used in African vaccinations. No ONE should trust Government Vacinations anymore.

As a layperson, I have a question that I hope someone here can answer. All other human influenza viruses have a distinctive death rate curve by age. They are 'U' shaped, meaning it is the young and the elderly who are most at risk. The 1918 virus had a distinctive 'W' shape, in this case young (otherwise healthy) adults between 20-40 years of age succumbed in high numbers.
Why? Does it have something to do with having a higher human receptor binding receptivity in the hemagglotinin?
