Honduran Coup Regime Blocks Ousted President Zelaya's Return; Troops Open Fire on Supporters at Airport Killing Two

One week after a military coup in Honduras, soldiers and riot police blocked the airport runway Sunday evening preventing ousted President Manuel Zelaya from returning to the country. Heavily armed Honduran soldiers also used tear gas and machine guns to disperse an unarmed crowd of tens of thousands of people who had come from all over the country, despite military blockades, to wait at the airport and welcome back their ousted President. At least two people were reportedly killed and more wounded. We go to Tegucigalpa to speak with Andres Contreris, who was at the scene.

    VIVA HONDURAS

  • Coup? no..

Constitutional and legal removal of a former president who thought he was above the law? YES

  • Zelaya published an executive decree # PCM-020-2009 to reform the constitution. The constitution has 379 Articles in total 8 of those cant be changed. Fact. Art 239 automatically fired Zelaya as president. Whoever violates this law or proposes its reform, will immediately cease in their functions Intent and immediately as in instant, as in no trial required. Fact. Art 242 shows the succession line. When Mr. Zelaya was sent to Costa Rica he was no longer the president of Honduras. VIVA HONDURAS

Honduras is more democratic and free now than it's been.the curfew is to protect its citizens from riots! not to steal liberties! Why do you not report on who financed Zelaya's campaign? why don't you report on whose plane's Zelaya has been flying in?
