Taken from our blog, Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason answers the question "Doesn't the Christian position that homosexuality is sin inflame violence against homosexuals?" For more information, visit http://www.str.org.
Speaking against homosexual marriage doesn't encourage violence against gays. I will grant you that,
However, speaking out against Christian marriage doesn't encourage violence against Christians.
The quesiton is, whether the LEGAL act of marriage should be based on religious grounds.
I say no. Marriage predates Christianity, exits in all cultures. True same sex doesn't but gays are part of mainstream society. Its WRONG for you to impose your beliefs on others.
Again, as an atheist i am rating your video high. (4 of 5 this time) Why? I think what you are saying is valid. People who feel compassionate towards humanity will not be compelled against gays just because some religious text says your suppose to kill them.
But it does seem reasonable to me that those who already feel violent against gays (at a minimum) find justification for their actions in the Old Testament. Especially when the church teaches them to follow all of God's commandments.
There isn't a law against rap music, but that doesn't mean I have to like, respect, or approve of someones choice in music, or rap music in general. However, it is not our right, nor our place to do anything about it directly (I.e. breaking their boombox, harming the listener). We can only do things indirectly. I.e, not supporting people who support it, campaign against it, etc.
Homosexuality is a SIN. Plain and simple. We should still love and respect them. But we must speak the truth without fear. Ask yourself, "would Jesus not tell a homosexual they are sinning and on their way to hell?" Well said Mr. Koukl. I agree.
If I speak out against the abuse of Children does that then mean that violence is encouraged upon Child molesters. Understanding that Child abuse is wrong could lead to molesters having their rights infringed upon. It does not automatically follow that saying something is wrong should mean violence is permitted on perpetrators of that wrong. Homosexuality has been around since the fall of man. Jesus teaches us to love even those who are set up against us. Thought police don't understand this

The message of the Gosple isn't that God loves us anyway, its that He loved us first.
Jesus died for us because He FOREKNEW we would sin & wanted to save us FROM OUR SINS.
Again, GOD HATES SINNERS, and if we are be Holy as He is Holy WE are to HATE SIN and SINNERS.
We spread the Word to put an END to sin, because we hate it & believe that it whould cease and all should repent & come to God thru Christ!
REPENT & STOP SINNING!!

At this point people like say FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, to which I say AMEN!! But WHEN did God love the World? What about the People?!
We've already established that he HATES SINNERS.
1st we see that when God created the world it was GOOD.
2nd Jesus is the Lamb that was slain from the FOUNDATION of the World Rev 13:8 God loved us before we sinned, so He DIED for us BEFORE WE SINNED!
3rd if a Gay REPENTS then he is no longer Gay, he has TURNED from it & STOPPED SINNING

Please quote some SCRIPTURE that tells Christians to LOVE & RESPECT homosexuals.
You will not find it.
The Bible says if we are even FRIENDS with the world we are ENEMIES of God [Jms 4:4]
Do NOT let your LOVE be DISHONEST: HATE EVIL & CLEAVE to that which is GOOD [Rmn 12:9]
God does NOT LOVE GAYS!
Psalm 5:5 tells us "The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou HATEST ALL WORKERS of iniquity."
God HATES SINNERS.
If were to Love as God Loves, we must Hate as He Hates [cont]
