@photomad97 Depends how serious you are. If your really serious and have a good amount of money in the bank, I would definitely go to a DSLR for a MAJOR impact.

If you really want to take great shots, get the nikon d60 or nikon d40 or maybe the d3000.

is this suppose to be more versitile than the p6000? And is there wide angle?

The P6000 has more manual control, a hot shoe and can use lens converters - so in some ways is more versatile. However, the P90 has an adjustable LCD and a powerful zoom so offers something the P6000 cannot.
The widest angle the P90 supports is 26mm, which is a very good wide angle - made even better thanks to its 624mm tele. The P6000 has a 28-112mm lens - although this can be changed with the fitting of various lens converters.

can you swivel the lcd so that when youre taking pics you can see yourself like the D5000?

No, there is only an up/down swivel
