I spoke at the Venice Community Garden in Late June 2011
about the need for Urban Permaculture and Urban Food Forests. No one is leaving the metropolitan centers anytime soon, so that will be a huge key in producing food and medicine for our families and friends in the next coming years. It must begin at home no matter where you are!

  • very well said!

  • You, are awesome.

  • Love this! I really appreciate your aproach to "peace". We are all different with many different beliefs, but we can all make a difference by making it about loving and accepting our brothers and sisters of humanity.

  • Raw model- could you direct me towards the best place to start to educate myself about container gardening? So much stuff out there. I have a condo in Salt Lake City Utah and have tried to start my own patio garden but I am having some difficulty getting my stuff growing. Thank you if you have a moment to answer.

  • @StrawberryBigMac "There's nothing more frightening than someone who knows they are right".

  • a good teacher always scares the shit out of you

  • By the way, check out "Las Gaviotas" is a self sustainable comunity based in the colombian planes, a once arid land, Founded by Paolo Lugary. peace.

  • Hi man! Nice video. I'm from Colombia, I would like to hear more about that woman who's helping the natives to make permaculture gardens, what's her name? I want to make a sustainable home based in permaculture, you're videos are inspiring and have helped me a lot. I live in the capital, Bogota. Thanks for sharin. Namaste :)

  • Phytoremediation of lead can take many years. Lead must be removed & dumped into a non inhabited area like a toxic dump site. If you know the location of a mound of soil contaminated with lead next to a community garden then you may want to contact California Hazardous Waste : Hazmat Disposal & get that toxic stuff taken away from a food producing area. Otherwise, I think it's great what you are doing. We need the same thing started in South Orange County. Thank you for your good work!

  • Thank you for addressing this issue. I have found such a disconnect with lots of groups because they can have tunnel vision when it comes to making fundamental changes in our culture. Diversity is our strength.
