Can businesses make more money by paying their workers more? According to The Container Store's CEO Kip Tindell the answer is yes. Jill Schlesinger reports.
As a former employee of this company, I will say that most of their business decisions are good. But if you consider freezing pay raises for two years, eliminating matching 401K rates, and eliminating benefits for tenured workers (some of the things the Container did do recently) the sign of an excellently run company - I'd say there's more to this story than what CBS wants you to know. I dislike the Container Store because there are some decisions not reported that are just plain wrong.
