Star Trek: Voyager - Inside the New Adventure, hosted by Robert Picardo. Part 1 of 6. Originally aired on January 14, 1995, shortly before the premier of Star Trek: Voyager, this special is an inside look at the new (at that time) series. Interviewees include Voyager castmembers Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, Roxann Biggs-Dawson, Robert Duncan McNeill, Jennifer Lien, Ethan Phillips, Tim Russ, and Garrett Wang; creators/executive producers Rick Berman, Jeri Taylor, and Michael Piller; supervising producer David Livingston; stunt coordinator Dennis "Danger" Madalone; makeup designer/supervisor Michael Westmore; costume designer Robert Blackman; property master Alan Sims; visual effects producer Dan Curry; matte artist Robert Stromberg; special effects technician Dick Brownfield; and visual effects supervisor David Stipes.

In Part 2, Picardo mentions that his character, the Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH), will be given a name at some point during the series. Little did he know...

In Part 4, Ethan Phillips takes us through a typical day, starting at 3:30 AM.

  • Wow ... thanks for uploading this! Robert Picardo is so sweet there :-)

  • imagine how great voyager would of been.. if we had long running feuds between the two crews on voyager. and if Tom Paris had been kept as an ex con with a dark past kind of character... and the lack of food and damage voyager took became an issue. rather than them just being fine the next week.

The show had awesome potential. but just became predictable

  • AWE..love this! Robert Picardo made Voyager a wonderful show in general. I loved him as the Doctor and always laughed out loud at him at his antics. He reminded me of McCoy on TOS in many ways. :) I have been missing Voyager lately and although I've moved on to other shows now, Voyager will always remain a kindred spirit in my heart. That show got me through High School!

  • watching this makes me want to watch voyager again. i'm going to go to watch it online!

  • Robert Picardo is one of those people who brought an extra layer of richness to the Star Trek franchise. His contributions to Star Trek are up there with the best.

  • @Hope111ification This is how I feel exactly. The first episodes are completely fine. You still have a fair amount of tension between the crew as they learned to get on. The problem is that the rifts were healed way too soon.

  • @ALIASMOTH I was six! I grew up on TNG and this.

  • That suit looks too big on Robert! or am I just a Trekkie and know nothing about contemporary clothing?

  • i can't believe i was five when this aired

  • I find it inspiring that the creator is a woman.

  • I like the way Chakotay's name is spelled phonetically.

  • Ever since a friend pointed out Picardo's lazy eye, I can't not see it.
