Nice car I put in a '79 olds 350 (top end rebuilt) and complete rear end out of a 4100 caddy (3.42s) in my '84 hopin' to get the same times as yours, can't wait till i get to drive it.

I had a Delta 88 that I dropped a 1968 Olds 350 in with a TH400 trans. I blew up the 307 first

picking up an 84 delta 88 2 door in awesome shape for 400 bucks!!! got the 307 currently infront of a rebuilt th2004r tranny with a shift kit and 3.08 limited slip. i bought it to put the tranny and limited slip in my trans am but my chrysler died so i guess its my daily driver. nice to see people giving some attention to the olds cars!

Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think our Cutlass S has a Rocket 435 in it.

We still have our '74 Cutlass S, and my father and I think it sounds pretty good. An exhaust manifold is cracked, but I think that just adds to the muscle car sound. He and I run at least once every change in the season.
I really want to get either a Cutlass Supreme or a 442 from 1986, because that was not only the year I was born, but the technology from that year means a lot to me.

Sounds good man, like an Olds should. Pretty respectable run for a 98 as heavy as they are. Nothing like the sound of a carburated Olds Rocket V-8. Miss my '87 442 and '77 Cutlass. Gonna get another one soon. Keep er running strong dude.

I once had an 87 Cutlass Supreme with a 307 and a 2.56 gear. First run was a 20.01 in the quarter. I dualed the car out and took the AC belt off and it improved to 18.99. I put a tired 71 455 Olds in it with a 400 TH trans and it ranged from 14.6 to 15.1 with the same 2.56 gear. Did you try the 307 with the 3:73 gear? As I understand this you did that after you removed the 307. I believe the 307s can get into the low 16s with that steep a gear. Excellent combo you have here.
now did you shift down from d to 2nd or d to 1st to go fast like that i dragged raced my 77 and all i did was push the gas pedal down did 12.10 but would like to do better if the trick is to shift down from d to 1st or 2nd id give it another try

I was in D the whole time, I shifted into N at the end because the engine was at high RPM. It is 3.73 with a 3 speed TH350.

What is the crossmember out of? What was the original transmission?

I was using a 1978 delta 88 crossmember. The 84 olds has the extra 2 holes in the frame to support the TH350 crossmember. The original trans was a slipping TH200-4R.
