Guided tour of the shop LHUPATECH featuring a full presentation with written informations and comments about the unusual "Inkjet Printer Record Cutter Lathe Project"!

This project consists on a DIY vinyl record (acetate or lacquer disc) type "CDRecord" or "DVDRecord" engraving (or cutting) machine that should cut on scrapped, old CD's or DVD's and even two faced bundle clear or black disc protectors known as "Protect Disks" that can be engraved on both sides as a real vinyl record! This is the type of recording machine as used to cut on lacquer discs in the vinyl record era made from old inkjet printers and hard disk drives (HDD) for the cutter head. Several other versions of this project are on the bench! Notice the particular environment where that shop is...

The video was taken and recorded from a Kodak Zm1 mini camera, edited on Ulead Video Studio 9 in .avi and then converted on the Corel Video Studio Pro X4 in FLV (640-480). There was the best codec for this video on YouTube!

It's the newest and last "clean-cut" version with the "LHUPATECH" shop's presentation generic at the begining, more readable text informations and comments. This time, I think that's in the "bull's eye"!...

  • its not great i am having problems with line spacing on to 12 inch 33.3 record made from 1mm thick lexan but if i can master it i will post it up and let you see my project .. i would love to buy a cutter such as a presto n6 or something someone such as yourself has built... my technical ability is not great i am bit out my depth on building one really. if i had a presto n6 i feel i could remaster my music to sound great on viny adjusting e.qs changing the mp3 to wma to get a balance to it

  • you have an amazing skill level buddy and technical know how , i have been doing my best over the last month to start my own small project on building a home made vinyl record lathe but i never thought of an ink jet printer to give me the movement required ..... the system i had was very basic with direct drive turntable .. a table lamp \ and a headshell build from 2 small speaker \ small copper cones \ plastic tubes\ to give me the stereo sound ...
