ACC Student/Alumni Testimonial, Ed Looby

Ed Looby was raised in Montana, where he got his first Associates Degree in Electronics Technology in 1990. After touring with Up With People that same year, he moved to Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1996, with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism. He then spent several years as a newspaper reporter and managing editor, earning several Texas Governors awards, including a Barbara Jordan Media Award, an Entrepreneurship Award, the Monson Freedom of Information Award, and various other recognitions from Texas newspaper organizations. In 2007, Ed decided to make a career change to drafting and chose ACC for his education. Even before graduating with his Associates Degree in 2009, Ed had started a rewarding career as a designer with Schlumberger Oilfield Services.
