Natalie Wood didn't sing at all in the movie and anyway it was a different time when that movie was made. This vid is great, they have beautiful voices, I'm sure it was an amazing concert. It would still be completely inappropriate for them to be cast in a production of West Side Story due to their race.

At first I didn't want to like Laura Benanti. Just a personal thing, voice seemed too blandly operatic. Then I heard how wonderfully her voice blends with Andrea McArdle's and I changed my mind. Their voices together are like a nice equation, did anyone else notice that? No wonder Andrea McArdle has had such a long career. Her voice and style are such that many singers mix nicely with her. (I'm not saying Laura *needed* Andrea to sound good, just that the combo is gold).

Natalie Wood was Russian but she played Maria in the movie, big deal, it doesnt matter. all that matters is that they can sing and act the part and pass as that character
