  • I appreciate the analysis here. Bartleby's individuality verse capitalism. Bartleby seems deliberate in his defiance, and as you say a revolutionary, but the narrator believes that Bartleby lost his mind / soul... ,Whatever the case, the conflict between society and Bartleby is clear. One thing.. the narrator is misrepresented. Less the "voice" of capitialism, and more the middle man between the capitalist machine and humanity, the narrator proves quite sympathetic, inviting Bartleby home...

  • only fools equate capitalism with corporatism
