with another cargo ship off the coast of Malaysia. The collision has left nine crewman from the oil vessel missing.
A massive 58,000 ton oil tanker went crashing into the side of a cargo ship in the waters off the Malaysia coast on Tuesday the 18th. According to a Malaysian maritime official, nine people are missing from the 25 member crew.

The oil tanker was on fire for hours after the collision, but officials say there was no danger of an oil spill.

The tanker has been towed to the edge of the international shipping lines offshore, so there is no disruption or delays to shipping in the straits.

A maritime spokeswoman said the cargo ship that was hit was empty at the time of the collision.

  • She was not carrying oil but 58000 tonne of inflammable naphtha fuel. Which is lighter than benzin and did not cause an environmental pollution. 9 people missed some could not even get out of their rooms since they were resting at the time of the collusion. Location where the collision took place is narrow and there is heavy traffic. Ships are not vehicles that can maneouvre so fast like cars. so these things are happening at the sea. Reason of the collisions is most of the time human error.

  • @junekentucky small oceans and narrow tankers... this is a total disaster

  • Kamikaze ship?

  • How the hell did 9 people fall off that ship? I don't think so.

  • Uhhh, the front of the freighter is damaged and the side of the tanker is damaged, so wouldn't that mean the freighter hit the tanker?

  • @doormagic yes but they don't go anywhere they wanna go! they have invisible streets ! ;) and if someone makes one little mistake then...bang!

  • @hotstuffooo yes! :) forever! and ever!
