Patti's Columbia albums were miles ahead of what she did for Mercury. They reflected a new depth in interpretation, a singer who'd gone beyond hit singles to become a sophisticated interpreter of class and challenging material, and overall a more mature and wise artist. The Columbia albums all did well with the public, but this one likely indeed is the best. All her Columbia L.P.s are on C.D. and well worth having. They are gorgeous.
Undoubtedly her best album for Columbia Records. It also includes a great recording of ALL THE WAY, THE LAMP IS LOW, I WONDER (I wonder,I wonder), SEPTEMBER SONG, FOOLISHLY YOURS, FADED SUMMER LOVE and the song patti introduced I ADORE YOU.
The perfect match ...Patti's voice and this song. Her voice fits the song like a satin glove.
