This talk describes work done at the Renaissance Computing Institute's Engagement Facility at North Carolina State University. Sidharth Thakur and Theresa-Marie Rhyne developed a visualization framework to support NC State University's Institute for Emerging Issues exploration of social and economic data sets pertaining to the state of North Carolina. The data vases visualization method evolved as a technique for examining multiple time series data sets associated with the 100 counties in the state of North Carolina. Sidharth Thakur built the interactive visualization framework tool in OpenGL. Theresa-Marie Rhyne served as team coach and got out of the way as much as possible. This specific talk was presented by Theresa-Marie on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, in the Information Visualization 2009 Conference's poster fast forward session during IEEE Visualization Week 2009 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The associated poster was available for viewing during IEEE Visualization Week 2009.
