  • the funny thing to me is that 99.9% of you gobbers making comments can't do what she does,so stop the comparisions and enjoy what she has acomplished at such an early age, because u know theres more comming 4 u to hate on!!!!!

  • being influenced by and channelling other people doesn't mean you don't have an individual voice. nobody would be anywhere without the steps others took before them. All music we hear today is "derived from other styles" contemplation09. Esperanza doesn't sound like these other people mentioned - she sounds like she's heard them. I would say she has a very individual voice, with her vocals and on the bass. I wish I was half as talented on either.

  • OK she deserved the grammy ... sorry

  • so damn sexy

  • I love this woman. I'm in love with Esperanza

  • @bob4247 !!!!!!! A Very blessed life indeed! MAN! Safe to say you can die happy, haha

  • @thewyndian I was about your age when I met Miles. And shook his hand! I was 20 and in college. I had a program on the College's radio station WRSE-AM/FM. An associate scored press passes to the Playboy Jazz Festival at Soldier Field in Chicago so we had the run of the place including backstage. I've had a very blessed life. I shook Trane's hand also. I've been to several Cannonball Adderley venues, but never got to talk to him.

  • @bob4247 Amen. and MAN i cant believe you saw Miles Davis and Trane, ahhhh! haha, im 18 and miles was probably already dead when i was born >:(

  • @thewyndian About Esperanza. Her talent is mesmerizing, stunning, inspiring, outstanding and totally absorbing. I have become huge fan. I am doing all I can to spread the word.

  • @thewyndian Thank you, I am almost 68 and have been a fan and player of jazz most of my life. I've been very fortunate see, live, stars like Trane, Miles, Mulligan, Cannonball and on and on, I've also been lucky enough to be on the same stage with some very famous musicians like Gerry Mulligan. In all that time I never thought I see someone carry the jazz flame to the grammy stage and win the way Esperanza did! It has done wonders for the Jazz community.

  • @bob4247 beautifully said, she's truly an inspiration.

Im so baffled that I actually saw her play live just a summer ago randomly playing in my local park, that blows my mind O_O

thats the best part i think, shes becoming famous but shes still willing to play down to earth free shows anyone can see

  • What a great story. No agents, no stylists, no nothin'… Just Esperanza! This just goes to show all of us what hard work, determination and a vision can do for you. Thank you Esperanza for sharing your vision and talent with us.
