Here's an improv blues on the lap steel guitar. I just let it rip with my 1950's magnatone guitar and fender Blues Jr amp. Be sure to visit my website at http://www.steelguitarzone.com

  • What key's a good tuning for a bit of lap steel? I want to start getting into it!

    Good video, thanks for sharing!

  • Most people tune to open E or open A for blues. For hawaiian and western swing style, C6 is popular.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Friend of mine has the same lap steel. That baby wont let you down.

  • Yea, the magnatones are great!

  • what is the standard tuning for a lap steel? i just found one exactly like that in my grandparents house

  • Most lap steel players play blues in open E or open A. A6 and C6 tunings are popular to get the swing and hawaiian styles. There are many more but those are probably the most popular tunings.
