Today is the first day of intermittent fasting for me, my first 24 hours of waiting until I get to eat again.

Here is just a brief introduction to me, why and how I'm doing this, and other things I've apparently already forgotten.

Thanks go to Brad Pilon and his book Eat Stop Eat for the information necessary for me to feel confident that it is safe to do this: http://eatstopeat.com/

  • I started on september 1 weighing 87 kgs and currently at 79.

  • Whoa! That's fantastic. Have you been keeping a log? Are those weights recorded from fasting days and, also, was your weight loss linear or did you notice appreciable difference in the amount lost from weigh-in to weigh-in?

  • I fast 23 hours a day--eating only in a one-hour window sometime between 5 and 10. If I maintain this, I lose about a kilogram a week. There are a host of added benefits that is too long to mention. I have been keeping an excel spreadsheet with all my weekly weight and losses. I will forward it to you at the end of the 16-week plan (sometime in mid december). But do remind me, too.

  • I'm well aware of these benefits myself, which is why I don't beat myself up (too hard) if I overeat on my feeding days. What is the intent with the 16 weeks? Is this when you project to have lost the weight you want to lose, or is this as long as you feel you will be able to diet? My logs are basically just a test log of how I feel at given times, since I don't really know any day-to-day anecdotal resources... so I'm making one in case someone in the future is so-interested.

  • Great video with good information. I look forward to more!

  • Thank you so much! :)

  • Eric you are cute, best wishes for you and your career!

  • "i don't like to nibble i take bit bites" that's so funny & cute.

  • 16 weeks would allow me to assess any measurable benefits i.e. weight, skin condition, energy level, blood pressure, glucose, whatever.
