20100405: It's tuna and water time on Savage Muscles. This is Dave Draper's Tuna/Water diet. 72 hours of Tuna, Water, Metamucil, Branch Chain Amino Acids and Multi-Vitamins. I lost 10lbs in the three days. Challenger yourself, what can you do? • But what this doesn't show is: BODY FAT %. Sure, you lost 10Lbs, but of which was that fat or muscle? Such a low calorie deficit may result in muscle loss. I'd be interested to know your BF before and after the 3 days, will you post?

  • @WiredEvolution Here's the thing... I didn't have my body fat taken right before and after, otherwise I'd gladly post. I regularly get in the BodPod (well, once a month) but all the readout really says is Fat Free Mass vs Fat Mass. I don't know how to get a breakout of bones / muscles / water. I highly doubt you'll actually lose muscle in 72 hours. I'm willing to bet on it's excess fat and fluid that's lost vs muscles. Aside form the scale, I looked a lot leaner after than I did before.

  • @ronastrahan Fair comments, but next time you do this be sure to take as many measurements before and after! :) Use fat callipers, you should have a pair with you and log your measurements as much as possible.

  • @WiredEvolution Despite our varying views, I believe this is the most civil conversation that I've had with anyone on youtube. So... I have bodpod appointments for the morning next Monday & Thursday, and I'll be eating 6 cans of tuna / day Mon-Wed... I'm not too keen on calipers, but I'll be tested by the same person so... What pinch sites should I have surveyed?

  • how much do u work out doing the diet and can u put crackers with the tuna

  • surely you just lost water weight. this is what happens in the initial stages of a calorie deficit

  • I've been doing tuna meat only diet (65% Raw Veggies, 30% Tuna(watered), 3% Carbs, & 2% Diary products) & as of February(2011) I was 275lbs now I'm 212lbs(I'll probably be less by morning as seems I've been losing 1 or 2lbs in my sleep). On my recovery days I'm carb it up with tons of flax-seed. My goal is 195lbs so I will qualify for the USCG or US Army. Once I finally make it through camp hopefully I'll be down to 180lbs so I can start bulking up.

  • Would you recommend this in the last week before a bb show...? Im a novice...

  • ive included about 2-4 cans of tuna in my toning diet that ive created myself. its been 6 days and ive lost 4.5kgs and my abs are becoming hugely defined and i just want to share it with you guys.

so in the morning i eat either oatmeal with water or skim milk and a dab of honey and a medium sized banana

lunch i have garden salad and tuna (i mix the tuna with halfa lemon and salt and pepper so its not so dull) mixed together

and the same for dinner. it leaves me full and energetic aswell

  • How big were your cans of tuna? I eat 130g (drained) tuna cans. If I were to eat 6 of those a day exclusively it would only be 905 calories which sort of worries me as that's defiantly my body going into starvation mode!

Don't get me wrong I'm not putting it down, I'm curious about this method, but how much of that weight loss was fat and how much was water and muscle? If the cans were bigger and it was at least 1500 calories (at least) per day I might be tempted to give this a shot!
