Choirmaster Jonathon Welch continues his music program inside Victorias Tarrengower Prison in the hope that their participation might influence the prisoners to go straight on release.
They have performed in the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre maximum security prison and now Jonathon wants them to use their personal experiences to write a song they can be proud of. He has invited multi-award winning singer songwriter Kasey Chambers to help in the process.
Kasey tells the women she sees song writing as a sort of therapy session. She has come prepared with the chorus written around the theme of the choirs name Voices From The Inside. Kasey challenges the women to write the verses for the song and inspires them with a rendition of Johnny Cashs prison anthem Folsom Prison Blues.
