Good job crosscheck. I am always amazed how JWs can't see how their pre-baptism habits are, as you have said, actually the opposite of what the pattern is in the Bible. It is also the opposite to the biblical pattern that JWs are baptized into an organization (The Watchtower, April 1st 2006, pages 21-25) rather than the biblical pattern of Matt. 28:19. Maybe this formula (a command of Jesus) sounds to Trinitarian for JW ears?

@21crosscheck21 Jesus said he would have a 'faithful and discreet slave' class that would carry out his spiritual 'feeding' of truth to his disciples=Matthew 24:45-47. They are appointed over all of Jesus' belongings (disciples) to take care of their spiritual needs to learn God's word.The apostle Paul said to obey and regard those who take the lead=Ephesians 4:8, 1 Thessalonians 2:11-14, 5:12,13, Hebrews 13:7,17,24, 2 Thessalonians 3:4,5. Jehovah's Witnesses follow bible EXACTLY as disciples :D

@Shazoolo JW's do baptize according to Matthew 28:19,20. This scripture is quoted during the process. WE pray to Jehovah God for holy spirit (power) and thank him for sending his Son Jesus who teaches us to make disciples in this way. WE offer all prayers THROUGH Jesus as he is the 'mediator' between God and men=1 Timothy 2:5,Hebrews 8:6, 9:15. Revelation 3:14 says Jesus is the 'Amen', the beginning of the creation by God (Prov.8:22-36,Colossians 1:15. WE follow Jesus' EVERYcommand and law :D

For all JW,I would watch very carefully what I say about people seeking to put truth out,especially considering you are unwilling to take a leap of faith and study to show yourselves approved that the WTS is filling your heads with lies.....just sayin....

Good job debating him, and there are holes in his reasoning. Jesus invited us to 'test' the righteousness of the scriptures, not each other. And it didn't matter that they didn't have the New Testament at that time, they had Christ walking the earth. They didn't need the New Testament. He said at the end of Matthew to keep baptizing people in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. John the baptist making the way for Christ required that people repent to be baptized.

by the way..why don't you do some study on how other religions engage in baptism?..thank you for helping to confirm the words of Christ that we will be persecuted for doing his work..Jesus invited us to 'test' the righteousness of the scriptures..your previous cmment refuted your own argument as it shows you calling scriptures "unbiblical"..stop now and seek the truth rather than attack those who already have it..may God's holy spirit guide you to te proper places in your search..Br.Mike

To say that disagreeing with the WT = persecution is a slap in the face to those who suffer REAL persecution. I know that the society likes to play the victim but I find it quote appalling.

@21crosscheck21 The Ethiopian eunuch already knew scripture (eunuchs study bible alot). He was caught up to speed on recent developments as Jesus fulfilled scripture. John 17:3 gives the requirement to take in knowledge of God to gain everlasting life. JW's have bible research to help people to become effective disciples=Matthew 28:19,20. It states we must 'teach' them ALL of Jesus' commandments to qualify. It takes TIME to help disciples understand the bible. WE adhere STRICTLY to the bible :D

@eternityandforever "The Ethiopian eunuch already knew scripture" That,s a bit of an assumption but alright..... so what of the jailer and his family? What about a person today who knows the bible well like the eunuch..... of all the people in the world some must exist? How often are they baptized the same day in the Watchtower organization?
