They didn't say that the octopus had 10 fingers...they named some instruments with the numbers as well.

There's a lot of old Sesame St material they don't use anymore. I was not the brightest child but I didn't come away thinking Octopusses have ten arms. I don't think that was really an issue.

I loved this song very much. Having been wondered why they don't use it any more.
Now, I know the reason. I didn't know they counted to ten. I guess they think the song is educationally bad or wrong. But it is permissible if they put a line
"An octopus actually has only eigtht legs (or hands whatever).
Even without the video, it is a great song. I want this song on CD or whatever.

This clip introduced me to jazz when I was 5 years old, and I've loved it ever since. Thanks Sesame Street!

um... so they count to 10... using an octopus... an OCTOpus... um.. ok....
dont get me wrong, i love this old stuff from Sesame Street, but seems someone goofed.. ;))) not that i noticed when i was 5... lol
