A short documentary about a father's struggle to see his children.

As a separated father who has been struggling to gain access to my child, I decided that people need to know about the struggles we as fathers face once our children are taken away from us.

In my journey to create this documentary I discovered hundreds of parents (mostly fathers) who are in the same boat. If you are a separated parent and are getting no support from the courts you are not alone. Please look for help groups such as Fathers 4 Justice in your local area.

  • Children should be allowed to have the love of both parents, thank you for highlighting the injustice being served on so many children and parents.

  • This is so very true. Children do deserve to know and enjoy both sides of their family. Unfortunately, this is so often not the case and a child is alienated from one side - sadly not realizing all that they are missing out on until precious time has passed.

  • As long as we continue to document custody and divorce cases simply as a loss to fathers, the system will be perpetuated. Many mothers, while not as many as fathers, do not share the life of their children.

When relationship restructuring takes place, there are two major factors which determine the outcome. Power and values.

The shift of power and the realization of changing values must be addressed by government if we are to have a measurement of progress for our social service providers.

  • Nice work dude!... and good use of Tangerine.

  • Travis,

Your documentary makes us stop and think. Children deserve to know and spend time with their moms and dads, brothers & sisters, grandparents, cousins; their families. Children are gifts to us all that are meant to be cherished, not to be used as objects in a custody battle. My heart goes out to all who are missing their children -- keep up the good work Travis -- you are helping to open eyes and perhaps even some hearts.

  • Excellent video. Keep up the good work, continue to highlight the problems in the unjust, secretive family courts and raise awareness. I believe "living bereavement" is the term you are looking for. Dan, F4J UK
