Painting the firetruck sign on the ratrod door

Stan traced out the old sign, took it home to design it, and is coming back tomorrow to paint it on the doors...

You've got the vision on this one. So far everything you've done is dead-on, so this is going to be the same. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

I considered that, but decided to just leave the doors as they are, and paint the sign right on. If I start painting it, where do I stop?  I suspect with the rust and primer and bondo, and those freshly painted new/old signs on the door, it'll look kind of interesting. If not I can always sand and age the signs if need be, . I'm as curious as everyone else to see how it's going to look..

I keep thinking you need to do a roller Rustoleum job on those doors before the lettering goes on. Sunrise Red from Lowe's.
