True... true...
But if someone was supposed to be a real person and not necessarily an expert on global geography and politics wouldn't that be something they might say? By not getting the date exactly right Danson's character shows himself to be someone who is in touch, yet still flawed. Maybe this flaw becomes a driving motivational force for his character or drives a key point of conflict in the decisions he makes. Literature is deep!
