DVD: Quadriga Live

Chì mi na mòr-bheanna

Chì mi gun dàil an t-àite san d rugadh mi,
Cuirear orm fàilte sa chànain a thuigeas mi,
Gheibh mi ann aoidh agus gràdh nuair ruigeam
Nach reicinn air tunnachan òir.

O chì, chì mi na mòr-bheanna,
O chì, chì mi na còrr-bheanna,
O chì, chì mi na coireachan,
Chì mi na sgoran fo cheò.

Chì mi na coilltean, chì mi na doireachan,
Chì mi na màghan bàna as toraiche,
Chì mi na fèidh air làr nan coireachan
Falaicht an trusgan de cheò.

I Will See the Great Mountains

Soon I will see the place of my birth;
I will be welcomed in the language I understand,
I will receive the cheer and love when I arrive,
Which I wouldnt sell for tons of gold.

O, I will see, I will see the great mountains,
O, I will see, I will see the high mountains,
O, I will see, I will see the corries,
I will see the crevices under the mist.

I will see the woods, I will see the thickets,
I will see the most fertile, fair lands,
I will see the deer on the ground of the corries,
Hidden under a blanket of mist.

  • My two favorite things: Gaelic music and the Baroque style. What a great mix!

  • Music that needs to be done in a certain style to be perfect will inevitably be played in exactly this style by someone in the end. Congratulations! Perfect music from a seemingly perfect ensemble. The time was due for it.

  • Math gu leor .......

  • Good tempo and right on the money, hard to get that right with this tune, people either rush it or dont sing or play pointed enough, its not a song you "go through the motions with". Great stuff

  • Elizabeth Kaplan, en plus de sa technique parfaite, sait mettre la touche de charme propre à nous enchanter
