The first real Super Mario Bros. 3 Speedrun on YouTube! I did this run on a real NES while recording my play on vhs tape. Unlike the other fakes that use emulators and other tricks this is a 100% real SMB3 speedrun.
11:59 is my fastest time as of 9/20/06 (but not my prettiest) I've been practicing this speedrun for months and get better every day. My goal is 11:30 with no major mistakes. I'm really close to this goal and will post it as soon as possible. I just recently mastered getting past the 3 hand levels (its not random!) so nothing is stopping me now.
Mistakes that I cant let happen for my ideal run
*1-3 - Keep my p-meter filled until the white platform
*Lava Ship - Get the Fire Flower
*8-1 - Don't waste 10 seconds trying to make a simple jump lol
*Bowser's Castle - Bunch of mini mistakes but main thing is killing bowser a few seconds quicker.
Everything else went pretty well :)

i just beat the game yesterday without dying and did it in 17 minutes... i wasn't even planning on doing it, just picked it up and played and realized i didn't even die lol.
and yes, the actual SMB audio would be much better and make it more interesting to watch.

What is it with people replying to comments more than 4 months old? If I muted it, I wouldn't hear the normal music now would I. I was just stating my opinion.

Nice, I never even knew you could kill bowzer with firepower lol
also, in the tank and airship levels I always wondered what they were all randomly shooting at. Its like they are wasting cannonballs and probably doing massive friendly fire damage.

lol that was so such a risky move at 4:36. I came so close to getting hit from the top and bottom. I was so nervous at that point I couldnt think straight. I plan on getting back into this game pretty soon so expect an even better time from me sometime this year. Dont worry I'll have direct sound this time.
