Assignment: Waving Flag
Student: Mark Jenkins
Class: Animation I-ANIM-202-01
Professor: Troy Gustafson
Conditions: 24fps on 2s (121 frames total)
Resolution: 640x480
Program: Hand drawn, DigiCel Flipbook
We had to animate a believable flag waving in the wind. Our time limit was at least 4 seconds in length. We could animate any kind of wind; a gentle breeze or hurricane like gale blowing, but we had to make it believable. This assignment was very challenging as there were no real limits on how the flag moved. Sequence loops 3 times.

Thank you
I was looking through the flag animation videos on here and was surprised to see Prof. Gustafson's name pop up. I'm a SCAD grad myself, and remember well the utter frustration this assignment was for me. I'm taking another crack at it now, hence the reason I'm searching for examples. Yours certainly turned out better than mine did at the time!

@Kuzias I know, Troy is awesome, how could I not mention him XD. But completely agree, the flag was a pain. This was B quality work even after a resubmit. The flag is defiantly the hardest assignment in Animation 1

How did you do that?

It was hand drawn. As far as the animating, just trial and error as far how the flag moved. Had to be careful of not letting it stretch, though
